Veterans Strengthening America
Ceremony and Dedication Service
On this coming Memorial Day, May 26, at 9:30 am
The Spring Valley American Legion Post and Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day remembrance service and a dedication ceremony for the new stone war memorial monument. Following the ceremony we will be hosting a small picnic and social hour. We will be joined by the Boy Scouts and the Spring Valley High School Band.
American Legion Post 227 of Spring Valley Wisconsin received its permanent charter on April 11th, 1928. At that time we were named the Ralph Rickerd post. We later were issued a supplemental charter October 4th, 1947 when we renamed the post to "Rickerd-Danielson" to honor Dorance Danielson. Both Rickerd's and Danielson's names appear on our war memorial.

Spring Valley, WI -- 2024
---
It has been a number of years now since the old Veterans War Memorial was removed as part of the nursing home demolition. We are working to build a new Memorial Tribute to the men and women from the Spring Valley area who have lost their lives in conflict while serving in the Armed Forces.
The location for this tribute is to be on land donated by the Village of Spring Valley WI, found near Park Drive and World War / Veterans Memorial Highway 29.
We will build an outdoor memorial with access for all to come to read names of the fallen and honor their memory.
Please follow this page and/or our Facebook page. We will do our best to keep you up to date on events and our progress.
